CLS has the ethnic diversity!
In 2008, when my family moved from Manhattan to Darien, CT, my wife and I wanted our two boys (aged 5 and 7 at the time) to continue their Mandarin instruction. Although my wife and I were conversant in Cantonese, we always pushed for Mandarin, as it?s become the dominant dialect in China. In addition, the public elementary schools my sons attended were excellent, but did not have much ethnic diversity. CLS has the ethnic diversity as well as the structure to teach oral and writing skills in the traditional or simplified method.
My expectation was to have my sons be prepared to take the AP exams in high schools, if they wanted to go down that route. CLS has exceeded my expectations, and also helped my sons to create lifelong friends. CLS is not just a place to learn Mandarin and the Chinese culture- it?s a community!
